Tomorrowland: Ford's Future Vehicles

There's much abuzz surrounding the Ford community. From cars to trucks, Ford is thinking ahead and is ready to unveil its 2016 and 2017 vehicles. It's the new beginning for a couple different models that Ford has had in the past. Do you like super cars? Race cars? How about beefy, sporty trucks? Well, if you like one or even all three, peek under that veil and discover the Ford GT, Focus RS, and Raptor truck! These new, stunning vehicles are sure to impress and boost Ford's already outstanding presence in the car industry.

Let's see what these new vehicles are all about!
_________________________________________________________________________________

2017 Ford GT
Engine: Twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6
Available late 2016
Projected MSRP: $250,000
Last date of production: 2006

It's been nearly 10 years since we've seen the GT emerge! The classic Ford GT has received a modern, edgy overhaul. One big feature is the new engine. The original GT featured a V8 engine. Gas could get pretty expensive, especially knowing the types of drivers who own these vehicles! The new GT shed the V8 and exchanged it for a twin-turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6 engine. Ford SAYS that it can exude 600hp. It will also produce plenty of torque to push you back into your seat.

The new carbon-fiber body is really a piece of art. The front end still holds some of that classic GT beauty, but Ford stepped up their game and re-imagined the rest of the new GT.The lines of the body are lot more angular. There are plenty of cuts in the sides, front, and rear, which enhance it's fast moving style. The vents on the side almost seem to float in mid air, leaving open space between the rear and the hood. HID head lights are something new, making this thing look wicked at night.

Car & Driver ranks the GT among top competitors such as the Ferrari 458, Audi R8, and the Chevy Corvette. She really is a spectacle!

The Focus RS goes on sale first in Europe and is expected

Engine: Twin-Turbocharged 2.3L EcoBoost
                                         Available: Spring 2016
Projected MSRP: $30,000
Last production date: 2016, first line

The Focus ST just got a bigger, badder brother in the new 2016 Focus RS. For you motorheads who thought the ST was fun, you don't know what fun is yet. Its engine will tell you that. The Turbocharged 2.3L Ecoboost engine puts out 315hp, whilst the ST puts out 252hp. VROOM!

The RS also utilizes Ford's Dynamic Torque Vectoring system. What this is is it gives you high-performance, maximum traction and stability when cornering. So basically it handles superbly. It's also equipped with all-wheel drive.

The rear wing on the Ford Focus RS could Subaru WRX
Being brand-new from Ford, the RS has no previous models to contend with. Though I highly doubt it wouldn't impress. It's front end is a lot more bolder than the ST as well as the spoiler on the back. But then again, the more power, the bigger the spoiler for keeping that thing on the ground!  It comes standard with 19" wheels and BiXenon head lights as well. The RS is bold, fast, and exciting. Can't wait to see what my husband thinks of this ;)

Car & Driver ranks the RS among the Volkswagen Golf R and the Subaru WRX STI.

2017 Ford Raptor
Engine: Twin-Turbocharged 3.5L EcoBoost V6
Available: Fall 2016
Projected MSRP: $49,000
Last production date: 2013

The Raptor is a really supped up, really aggressive version of the F-150. It's not out there for racers and speed geeks (although it does pack a punch in the speed category.) Plus, I also just like jacked up trucks! Don't be fooled by the V6 engine. It's just as hefty as the V8, without the growl. It will put out 411hp and 434 ft lbs of torque. Just like the other new Ford trucks, the body is made from aluminum, making it 500 pounds lighter than the previous Raptors!

The Raptor's suspension has also been given a facelift with 3 inch Fox Racing shocks instead of 2.5 inch shocks of days old.

The interior also has unique Raptor leather and suede seats. They're definitely a cool feature! The Raptor also comes standard with duel exhaust, LED lighting, and 17" wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 Tires

Make no mistake, the Raptor is as fierce as the name makes it out to be. A real terror in the vast world of off-roading!

Tapp Into Our App

As some of you may know, Victory Ford now has our own app! It's called "Drive Victory" and it's available on Apple, Android, and Windows phones! I just got done with a live meeting with the guys over at DealerApp Vantage and there are some really cool features right at your fingertips!

Let's start off with getting the app...

All you have to do is go here Drive Victory App to get started. You can also go into your appropriate app store and search "Drive Victory" or "Victory Ford App" and it should come up. Even better, IT'S FREE! Who doesn't like FREE things?

So now it's downloaded... What can you do with our App??

The home page features some main services. This is called the "Tool Kit."

Tool Kit
If you're stranded somewhere (hopefully not like the Griswold's in the desert) you can easily hit the Roadside Assistance button and you can call the number associated with Ford Roadside Assiastance. They track your phone through GPS and send you a text or automated voice message with the details of the service coming to help you with an ETA.

Need some gas? Hit the Local Gas Prices button. This feature is powered by GasBuddy.com. You can enter your city, state, or zip code and gas stations near you will pop! This is nice if you're traveling and are in a town you are unfamiliar with.

Are you in the city and using a parking meter? How will you manage to keep up with the minutes if you're busy sight-seeing or in an important meeting? No problem, use the Parking Assistant feature. You can record the minutes on your meter and set an alarm before you're out! It also has a GPS map to show where you are! Adios meter readers, can't touch my vehicle!

Are you interested in seeing and/or meeting our staff? Click on the Staff button to view our current staff. You can directly email or call them from there as well!

Money got you feeling curious? An easy loan calculator is right there for you to figure out financing! Just click the Loan Calculator button!

All The Steps Laid Out!
Most of you will probably be using the app for servicing. For those who may be call-shy or just don't have time to make a phone call, now you can schedule service with the app! It's accessed using the Schedule Service button.

First, you select the vehicle from your user profile. You can then select the type of service you're in need of. From there, you can choose the date of service. On the last screen you can choose if you need a loaner, write any notes you have for the service guys, and you'll see your profile information that the service guys will see. How easy is that?

So those are the main features in the Tool Kit. If you swipe to the right, this screen will pop up...

Here you can search our inventory in the Showroom. You can edit
your current vehicles in the My Garage section. This is helpful when using the Schedule Service feature, so I recommend doing this first.
The Messages section shows any promotions going on or push notifications we have sent out that are still available. You also find out more about Victory by scrolling down and clicking the About Us tab. You can also get back to the Tool Kit by either clicking the Tool Kit tab or swiping left.

So in a nutshell, this is a guide to our new Drive Victory App! It's a very handy tool and we hope that all of our great customers "tapp" into it!

Let's Focus on the Focus

Hocus Pocus Holy Focus! This week's car of the week is the new 2015 Focus. I've been driving them around today for photos, and they're a sharp little car. Ford has come up with a new design for the 2015 model. It's very similar to the new Fusion. It has a more sporty, aggressive look, which should be popular with many folk. The head lights aren't as bug-eyed as the 2014 either.
Ford is offering plenty of wheels to choose
from as well, 10 of them to be exact!

As for interior, the Focus now comes standard with a rear view back up camera. It also comes equipped with a USB port that helps charge your phone and helps it sync to the system.

On The Cutting Edge...

Coming into this job, I never thought I would buy a new SUV. Just a year ago I had bought a Durango and really had no intentions of getting anything anytime soon. I loved my Durango and everything about it. What I did not know is how much I would fall in love with the new Edge.

A week ago we received our first 2015 Edge and it happened to be a Sport. What struck me first was the color. Ford came out with a new color called Spiced Metallic. It's a very bold color. Let's just say most people here either loved it or hated it right away. Me, I loved it. It's different. I'm typically a white car, black accent type of gal, but this Spiced Metallic really caught my eye.

So yea, the color lured me in a little closer. Like I said, I didn't need a car. There was something about this dang Edge, however that kept me thinking. Maybe it's the fact that my desk faces the incoming cars and it was literally in my face 24/7. Just for kicks I talked about it with my husband. Being an engineer, he typically goes into things with a fine tooth comb and judges everything to the point that it exhausts you. On top of that, he's a car freak and knows almost everything about a lot of cars. To my surprise, he told me that if I could get the payments lower than what I was paying on my Durango that I should possibly get the car.

To make the long story short, two days after receiving the Edge, it was mine!
_________________________________________________________________________________

Now, why do I suggest anyone looking for a smaller SUV to check out the new Edge? Here's  a couple reasons why...

1. New Looks
Awesome Tail Lights!
- Ford got rid of the "grandma," "bubble car" look that previous models had. The new Edge is a lot more angular, which should appeal to a lot of younger folk.
- The tail lights now span across the entire back of the vehicle. They're LED and look fierce!
- Ford added LED daytime running lights in the front on models SEL and up, catching on to the current fad most other manufacturers are doing. These look sick and give the car a more luxurious face-lift.
- The grille is a little different than before. I actually prefer the extended, older model grille. That's about it though.
- There's almost no need to get a 2016 Lincoln MKX either. They still have a bit of the old look to them, but they come with more options for wheels and such, so be my guest.
- The interior is pretty much the same except the buttons are now buttons instead of touch.

2. Cargo Space
- Holy cats! When I went grocery shopping the other day I didn't expect THAT much cargo space in the back. It has at least twice the space my Durango had. I plan on putting my subwoofer into this car and there will still be PLENTY of room for knick knacks. That's not even with the seats folded down. (Our dog will enjoy the room)

3. Electronics
- I have yet to hear the sound system in the other Edge models, but the Sony system lives up to its name. I'm a huge audiophile and a lot of my research and choice in a car has to do with the sound system. While the bass has room for improvement [buy a sub ;)] the treble and mids are pretty clean. The Durango's sound system was slightly better, but I still find the Edge's pretty good.
- I don't get the beef with Ford's Sync system. It's FANTASTIC. Dodge needs to get some tips from Ford because UConnect is not up to par. Sync instantly recognizes my phone and the hands-free system works pretty much flawlessly. The user interface gives you information on what's happening in your vehicle in four sections and it's easy to navigate to what you want. Some say there are too many ways to get to things. Aren't options a good thing?
_________________________________________________________________________________

Now I'm not just trying to promote the Edge because I work for Ford. This is my first Ford I've owned. My husband owns a BMW xDrive 335i, so we're not exactly brand loyal to anything. But seriously, if you or someone you know is in the market for an SUV, take a look at the 21015 Edge. Even better, send them to Victory Ford!

New Cars and New Positions

On this foggy May morning, we have quite a bit of updates here at Victory.

We're seeing some new 2016 Fusions rolling in and pretty soon some 2016 F-150s will be coming as well! How exciting see the latest and greatest from Ford right here in Iowa! The new Fusions are available in five different engine capacities and we're especially excited about the Energi Plug-In Hybrid! Not only can you be fully electric, but you can also run on both gas and energy together saving you fuel and money! It gets whopping 44 EPA est. MPG City mileage and 41 MPG Highway! You're also helping the environment as well.

Check it out here: Ford Fusion Energi
_________________________________________________________________________________

We also have some new 2015 Edges ranging from SEL to Sport! I actually just leased the first Sport we got and I have to say it's my favorite car I've owned, and that's not just saying it because I work here. That will be the topic of my next blog.

The new Edges have a completely revamped look. They got rid of the rounded rear to hood in favor of a more angular look. All models SEL and above come standard with LED daytime running lights, which look awesome. The tailights also extend across the entire back, much like Jeep and Dodge have done with their SUVs and Crossovers. As for engines, SE-Titaniums have four options. Sports come in a 2.7L EcoBoost engine, and it's quick. You now have the option of having the panoramic sunroof for those long road trips. They're really quite the spectacle!

Edges are one of the best selling Ford vehicles and people won't be disappointed with the 2015's.

Where's the Beef?!

We've Got Beef With You...

Remember that old Wendy's commercial with the old lady asking, "Where's the beef?" I have found the source! It's at Victory!

During the month of May, we're celebrating all of the beef producers in the area! Lot's of people are hankerin' for some hamburgers or some beef snacks this summer! All they have to do is take a test drive here and they get some for free!

Look at all that beef! Steven the Steer is ready for May and so are we!
